EAST ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- The Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge over the Mississippi River reopened Friday afternoon. IDOT has been replacing the steel grid deck in the middle of the bridge, making structural repairs, and repainting the bridge.
The ramp from St. Clair Avenue to westbound I-55-64 will also be re-opened at the same time.
There may be periodic temporary closures of the bridge over the next several months to complete minor projects and remove scaffolding. Those closures would occur on weekends and/or weekday off-peak traffic hours.
Update: The MLK Jr. Bridge in East St. Louis will reopen to traffic by 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18. #ILtraffic
