That road is Mason Road and starting Monday, it will be closed to traffic about one and a half mile south of Olive Boulevard until Labor Day.
The problem is the Mason Road bridge that crosses Turtle Creek. On a typical week day, almost 6,000 drivers use the bridge.
St. Louis County is not replacing it, just repairing it at a cost of almost $275,000. The foot bridge that's next to the roadway will remain open during the project.
Your best bet for a way around the closure is to use Highway 141 to either Olive or Ladue.
