(KTVI) – Several communities have big Memorial Day events planned for Monday.

Jefferson Barracks Memorial Day service will begin at 10:00am Monday.

St. Peters will host a Memorial Day remembrance ceremony in front of city hall at 9:30am Monday.

The Sappington-Concord Historical Society will host a Memorial Day celebration at Memorial Park at 10:00am Monday .

Ellisville will host a Memorial Day event at the Lafayette War Memorial in Bluebird Park at 10:00am.

Lake St. Louis will hold a Memorial Day observance at Lake St. Louis Veteran’s Memorial Park at 11:00am.

The Monroe County courthouse in Waterloo, Illinois, will hold a Memorial Day service for the fallen at 11:00am.

There are also two big Memorial Day parades.

The parade in Alton, Illinois, started in 1868 and is billed as the oldest consecutive-running parade in the nation. It begins at 10:00am at Alton Middle School.

Belleville will host it’s annual Memorial Day parade. It starts at 10:00am at Cathedral Grade School and ends at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
