ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– An apartment building in south St. Louis has been condemned, forcing 12 people out of their homes.
Residents say Wednesday night police entered an apartment building at 806 Schirmer. They went to the second floor and arrested a man who lives in a corner unit.
Thursday condemned signs were posted on the building forcing 12 residents out of their apartments. They said the health department told them toxic fumes from the meth lab made it unsafe to occupy six apartment units.
Residents say they were told they wouldn’t be allowed back into their apartments until test results showed there were no more toxic fumes in the building, which may take a few days.
Police have not released the name of the suspect while their investigation is continuing.
