ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- A cigarette thief is on the loose and investigators look for leads in a cold case.

This is a man who clearly hasn't chatted with the surgeon general lately.  It was this past Wednesday he strolled into the Walgreens on Chesterfield Parkway East with a plan to steal cigarettes.  And boy did he.  Our friend here, according to the Chesterfield Police Department walked out the door with more than a thousand dollars worth of cigarettes taken at knife point from a cashier.  That's more than 20 cartons all crammed into a duffel bag and taken away.  For those keeping score that is better than 4,000 smoke breaks this guy will have in his future if he doesn't just sell the things.  Police would like catch him if he doesn't die of lung cancer first.

Meanwhile a gruesome and mysterious murder case is still open tonight six years after it happened.  It was this week in 2006 when this man, 21-year-old Timothy Bacon was found shot a dozen times. He had left his cousin's home on Madison near Blair in north city. Three black males were seen leaving the scene but one of them, with braids and a pony tail, was seen walking back to bacon's lifeless body and shooting him as many as five more times.

As always if you have any information on these cases, there could be money in it for you.  Contact Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
