LOS ANGELES (AP) – A judge says jurors in an upcoming murder trial against actor Michael Jace should be told that his wife was having an affair before she was fatally shot by the actor last year.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Perry ruled Friday that the affair should be mentioned, but not in great detail.
Jace, who played a police officer on the television series “The Shield,” has pleaded not guilty.
The issue of whether the 53-year-old actor knew about the affair will be an element of the trial now scheduled to begin on Jan. 25.
Perry said to not tell the jury about the affair would leave them to draw their own conclusions about what was going on in the hours before Jace shot and killed his wife in their Los Angeles home in May 2014.
