(KTVI) – A Fox Files follow up, police finally have their man. A St. Charles attorney is arrested in New York after returning to the United States from Istanbul.

Attorney Jeffry Witt is accused of taking out a $100,000 line of credit on a St. Louis County home that didn’t belong to him.

Authorities say he promptly withdrew $60,000, put the money in his law firms bank account and used the money to pay personal expenses.

Witt was indicted in December by a federal grand jury. The indictment was kept sealed until his arrest Friday at Kennedy airport.

He made his initial court appearance today in Brooklyn, New York.

He faces charges of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft that carry a maximum 30 in prison.
