Missouri abortion rate drops 21% in three years

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A new study suggests that wider access to birth control may be reducing the number of unplanned pregnancies. The Missouri News Service reports that abortion rates in the United States gave dropped to the lowest rates since the procedure was legalized in 1973.

Rates in Missouri have declined 21 percent from 2008 to 2011.
