ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Missouri House Speaker Tim Jones Speaks out one day after a state rep introduces articles of impeachment against Governor Jay Nixon. Nixon's move to allow same sex couples, married out of state, to file joint tax returns prompted the filing.

Jones says the Governor has repeatedly violated the state constitution and he takes that seriously and it should be investigated. But, also says impeachment should be utilized sparingly and only in response to serious abuse of the law.

The Governor's office is calling the articles of impeachment a publicity stunt.
