Missouri National Guard Unit Attacked In Afghanistan

NANGARHAR PROVINCE, AFHANISTAN – Members of the Missouri National Guard Agribusiness Development Team VI came under attack Sunday in Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan.  The guard members did not sustain any injuries or fatalities, at Forward Operating Base Fenty in Jalalabd, eastern Afghanistan.

All of the service personnel’s families back in Missouri have been notified of the attack and that their family members are safe.  Governor Jay Nixon was also briefed on the attack, while on a trade mission in Brazil.

Approximately 55 soldiers and airmen from Missouri are serving in Afghanistan, on the Agribusiness Development Team.
