CLAYTON, Mo. – A man’s body was discovered in Shaw Park Monday night.

According to Clayton Police Chief Mark Smith, the body was found around 7:50 p.m. in the north end of the park, near Forsyth and S. Brentwood boulevards.

Officers found the body partially submerged in a pond. Chief Smith said there was no obvious cause of death and the body will be sent to the medical examiner’s office for further investigation.

The pond is now being drained as police continue the investigation. Officers actively are working to identify the body. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clayton Police Department at (314)290-8444.
