ST. LOUIS – Police have arrested the suspect accused in a fight that led to a deadly shooting in downtown St. Louis on Monday.
Deshawn Thomas, 22, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the investigation. He is jailed in St. Louis City without bond.
The shooting happened around 10 a.m. in the 700 block of North Tucker Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
A preliminary investigation revealed that before the shooting, the victim was involved in a fight with a male suspect at a nearby Shell gas station. The man fled the scene after.
Around 2:40 p.m., a nearby officer saw the suspect entering the library on Olive Street in the area and told the 4th District. The man, later identified as Thomas, was then taken into custody.
