ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – The Five Acres Animal Shelter planned to break ground Thursday for an expansion project, but it was moved due to the weather.

They plan to build a new play yard for dogs at their shelter. It will feature “safe turf.” Money for the project came from donations on the recent Give STL Day.

Five Acres is the largest no-kill animal shelter in St. Charles County.
