Franklin County Health Director resigns, overwhelmed by threats

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. – Franklin County Health Director Angie Hittson has resigned over claims of daily threats of violence and death.

The Post Dispatch reported she said she was overwhelmed by threats during the pandemic. She was hired by the county in 2007 and promoted to health director in 2013.

She’ll be replaced on an interim basis by Tony Buel, Franklin County’s Chief Epidemiologist.
