Man shot in leg in Gravois Park neighborhood Thursday morning


ST. LOUIS – A 28-year-old man was shot in the leg at 2:05 a.m. Thursday in the Gravois Park neighborhood.

The shooting happened along Winnebago Street at Michigan Avenue. Police said they found the victim in the 3000 block of Miami Street.

Police said the suspect was armed with a handgun.

The victim told police he was approached by a man he knows who was riding a “BMX style bike.” He told police the suspect had a handgun and “announced a robbery.” Once the victim gave up his property, the suspect shot him. At which point, the victim ran from the scene.

The victim was conscious and breathing when taken to the hospital.

Police described the suspect as a Black man in his 30s standing between 5’09” and 6’0″. He is missing teeth and was wearing glasses.
