GOLDEN, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say a 53-year-old man southwest Missouri man died when his experimental aircraft crashed.

Barry County Sheriff Danny Boyd said Kenneth Phillip Taylor, of Golden, died in the crash near Eagle Rock Thursday.

Boyd says the plane flew about 500 feet before it hit a nearby home and crashed. It was Taylor’s first solo flight in the ultralight plane.
