Northern Lights may be visible in Missouri Thursday night

ST. LOUIS – Parts of Missouri may get a second night to see the Northern Lights. The Missouri Storm Chasers posted on Facebook that Thursday night may have a more increased chance of seeing the lights in the state.

The post says forecasts like these are tricky because a lot of factors have to come into place for the northern lights, especially this far south.

FOX2 Meteorologist Chris Higgins says if anything is visible it will be a slight green hue, not the impressive light show seen other places.

The chasers said chances of seeing the lights are conditional, but according to the map showing where they occur, the data shows Missouri could see lights on the horizon.

They said the occurrence of the lights may change over the next 6-10 hours, but there is still a chance.

There is a Geomagnetic Storm Watch is in effect now until Dec. 11.
