JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer in Jefferson County on Wednesday.

The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on U.S. Route 67 and Meyer Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Levi Ray died at the scene.

The tractor-trailer was traveling southbound on Route 67 in the right lane. Ray was also driving southbound on Route 67 in the right lane. MSHP said Ray “failed to observe [the tractor-trailer] and the front of [the motorcycle] struck the rear” of the tractor-trailer. Ray was then ejected from his motorcycle and hit the back of the tractor-trailer.

Police have not released any further details. FOX 2 will update this story when more information is available.
