Police investigating kidnapping that may be related to homicide on Midland Blvd

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – One woman was killed and another hospitalized in a double shooting in north St. Louis County. There could be a connection with a kidnapping in St. Louis City. Police are not commenting on a connection between the two cases but say they always compare notes when crimes cross jurisdictions.

According to Sgt. Benjamin Granda, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at 9:50 p.m. at an apartment in the 10800 block of Midland Boulevard.

Officers found two women in an apartment, both with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 44-year-old Alesha Brown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Granda said police provided life-saving treatment to the second victim, a 41-year-old. She was rushed to a local hospital. There’s been no word on her condition.

Around the same time, city police responded to a report of a 27-year-old man who said he was kidnapped at gunpoint by three men in the 1800 block of O'Fallon Street. The man told police he was forced into his 2017 Porsche where the suspects then drove the victim around in his vehicle through different areas in St. Louis City and into St. Louis County.

The victim said the suspects threatened to force him to reveal the location of money they believed the victim was hiding. The victim was able to escape from his vehicle. The suspects attempted shooting the victim but missed. The victim's Porsche was later recovered.
