ST. LOUIS – Detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a shooting that took place Monday morning in the Dutchtown neighborhood.

According to a police spokesperson, the shooting took place just before 9:10 a.m. in the 3900 block of Arkansas Avenue. Officers found a shooting victim with a gunshot wound to his leg.

A suspect was apprehended near the intersection of Arkansas and Keokuk.

Police claim they were initially investigating the shooting as in connection with a home invasion. However, law enforcement claims the shooting victim is being uncooperative and investigators now question the validity of that person’s account.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. The severity of his injuries is not known.
