Police: Two juveniles shot in Jennings

JENNINGS, Mo. – The St. Louis County Police Department is investigating a double shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Jennings.

According to Sgt. Benjamin Granda, a county police spokesman, the shooting happened just before 3:35 p.m. in the 5700 block of Helen Avenue.

The victims, identified as a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, were taken to a local hospital. Granda said their injuries were not life-threatening.

Investigators learned the 17-year-old was in front of a home when a vehicle drove down the street and exchanged gunfire with the teenager. The 17-year-old was wounded during the exchange.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old who was across the street was struck as well. This individual is not believed to have been involved in the altercation.

The person or persons in the vehicle fled the scene, Granda said.
