RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. – The community center is welcoming people who have been displaced by flood waters. The Richmond Heights Community Center on Dale Avenue put out the message Tuesday morning.

Record-breaking rainfall led to widespread flash flooding across the St. Louis area Tuesday. First responders have been using rafts in several areas to help save people and their pets. Thousands of homes across the region do not have power.

The St. Louis County Office of Emergency Management is helping people with transportation to the regional shelter. They are asking anyone who will be staying there to consider bringing the following items: – Change of clothes, – Personal care items, – Personal medications. You can call them at: 314-615-9500.
