ST. LOUIS – School security officers in St. Louis City are not armed.

When St. Louis Police responded to Monday’s shooting, they used their weapons to stop the shooter.

In St. Charles County, they used ARPA money to put armed officers in elementary schools. That move came after the deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Middle schools and high schools in St. Charles County already had armed resource officers.
