MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – Two teens were involved in a Saturday night shooting that sent one to the hospital. Now the Maryland Heights Police Department is investigating.

A group of young adults was gathering at the Bennington Heights Apartment Complex to enjoy their Saturday night when a bullet came flying through their screen door, striking a young man. Police responded to a shooting at around 6:00 pm. They say the shooting involved two teen boys.

The 17-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses, who wish to stay anonymous, say the victim was shot in the arm unexpectedly when a bullet came through the screen door of their apartment complex.

Police say they are questioning a suspect. The witnesses say the suspect in question is a 16-year-old with who they are familiar. They are thankful the situation did not take a turn for the worse.

Witnesses say the victim has been discharged from the hospital.
