ST.  LOUIS COUNTY (KTVI)- Missouri Republicans gathered Thursday night to pay tribute to former Governor Matt Blunt and heard from the party’s Presidential standard bearer in 2012.  Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney was the headliner at the Missouri GOP’s Spirit of Enterprise dinner held at Hunter Farms in Creve Coeur.  Blunt, currently President of the American Automotive Policy Council, was presented with the award named after the event.

The evening was off-limits to the news media, but those in attendance tweeted some of the highlights.

Governor Romney, they said, did not speak about specific candidates seeking the GOP nomination for President in 2016, but instead put an emphasis on broader themes of leadership in moving the country forward.
