MoDOT schedules ramp, lane closures near Poplar Street Bridge next week

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – If you’re driving in downtown St. Louis next week, the Missouri Department of Transportation wants you to be aware of several overnight ramp and lane closures near the Poplar Street Bridge.

Work crews will close the ramp from eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 to the eastbound lanes of the Poplar Street Bridge, as well as the ramp to Walnut Street, on Monday, October 17 through Tuesday, October 25, beginning at 8 p.m. each weeknight. The two right lanes on the eastbound side of the bridge will be closed during that time.

The lanes and ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. the following day.

MoDOT recommends drivers use the Washington Avenue exit to get to the Martin Luther King Bridge to cross into Illinois.

Crews are also closing the ramp from the westbound Poplar Street Bridge to westbound I-44/southbound I-55 at 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 20. The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. the next day.
