You’ve probably seen that viral video of a Baltimore mom who some say slapped some sense into her son during the Baltimore riots. Toya Graham spoke with CBS News about the ordeal.

Graham is being called “Mom of the Year” for showing some tough love to her 16-year-old son Michael. Graham says she was watching news coverage of the Baltimore riots when she spotted her son in the middle of a rock-throwing crowd. That’s when she says she lost it and went to pick him up. The single mom of six says her son knew he was in trouble the moment he spotted her.

“He said mom when I saw you my instinct was to run. I’m a no tolerant mother. He knew he was in trouble.”

Michael is her only son and she doesn’t want him to be another Freddie Gray.

“Is he the perfect boy? No, he’s not. But he’s mine.”
