ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Many drivers knew about the crash blocking westbound I-64 in downtown St. Louis before they left home. Some thought leaving a little later might make them a little less late for work. It didn't.

Carol Lawrence and Roz Rodgers both live in Illinois and both work at East West Gateway. This morning neither was getting from east to west very quickly. It took Roz 45 minutes to make a trip that usually takes ten. carol thought taking route three to the McKinley bridge might be a little better.

The highway was closed from about six this morning until noon. Cars were able to exit before getting to the accident and eventually one lane was opened going past the accident site.
