Mt. Diablo in California catches fire

CALIFORNIA (KTVI) – Thick smoke has been filling the air near Mt. Diablo in California since early Sunday.

Officials say a fire ignited near the mountain and as of Sunday afternoon, the flames spread as far as 170 acres. Only 10 percent of the fire has been contained.

Around 50 to 70 homes had to be evacuated and the smoke could be viewed as far as San Francisco. Helicopters were seen flying over the area carrying aid.
