ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – A south St. Louis neighborhood is fighting back against crime as police set up extra patrols in hopes to catch two alleged criminals accused in a string of robberies.

Concerned citizens in Tower Grove South attended a community safety meeting Wednesday evening to hear from a St. Louis police official after the latest robbery.

Police said a couple returning home from a trip were robbed at gunpoint while getting out of their car. The suspect pointed a gun at the husband’s head. He and his wife had their two children in their arms at the time.

Investigators believe two young men are working together and are responsible for the spate of robberies.

The police official said additional patrols have been added to the area, as well as undercover officers.
