EARTH CITY, MO (KTVI) – As more and more Americans turn to online shopping, retailers are changing their business models to ramp up online sales and E-commerce online.
Amazon recently announced plans for new distribution centers in metro east; and Tuesday New Balance Athletics firm opened its upgraded operation in Earth City.
New Balance Athletics has had an online distribution business in St. Louis since 2000, but now it plans to centralize much of its U.S. operation at this new facility in Earth city.
Workers use portable scanning devices to track items that need to be shipped to customers, along with computerized warehouse that helps employees to locate merchandise more efficiently.
New Balance expects to provide same day order fulfillment for the majority of its customers.
