ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) — Imagine being born without blankets clothes or diapers.
It happens every day in America poverty and illness can touch even the tiniest of lives.
FOX 2’s Kelley Hoskins explained how one local charity can provide those families in need with a basket of hope.
Newborns in Need is a 501 (c) 3 non profit charity that donates essential baby care items to hospitals, homeless shelters , family crisis centers, county health units ,police offices and any other organizations that provide for the needs of premature and newborn babies that are sick or in crisis.
Many of the babies are born to families living in poverty and do not have adequate clothing , blankets or essential care products. Many babies are born too soon and extra small clothing is very difficult to find. The chapters across the county and in Missouri are made of volunteers who distribute handmade and donated items to these newborns free of charge.
What Do They Provide:
* Warm sleepers, undershirts, gowns, caps , booties, etc.
* Lovingly handmade quilts, afghans and blankets.
* Baby Healthcare and hygiene products.
* when needed , handmade burial layettes and memorial items.
* Comfort items.
* Many more necessary items.
