NWS confirms EF-1 tornado struck Potosi Wednesday

POTOSI, MO (KTVI)-A National Weather Service storm survey has determined that damage done in and around Potosi, MO, Wednesday was caused by an EF-1 tornado. The tornado traveled five miles with a width of 100 yards packing winds up to 90mph.

The tornado touched down at about 3:38pm  just northwest of Potosi and lifted 1.7 miles south of Mineral Point, MO, at 3:41pm.

EF-1 tornadoes typically feature 86 to 110 mph winds and can cause damage to roofs, trees, and siding, and vehicles.
