(KTVI) - President Obama is heading to western Missouri Friday. He will visit the new Ford plant in Claycomo near Kansas City.
He is expected to talk about the economy while he's there. The White House said President Obama’s visit to the Ford plant will highlight the progress the nation is continuing to make in the last five years, since the beginning of the financial crisis.
Ford plans to hire 1,600 new workers for its new stamping plant which will create parts for the Ford Transit Van.
The automaker also rehired hundreds of previously laid-off employees to work on its F-150 Pickup Truck.
