O'FALLON, MO (KTVI) - On Sunday the O’Fallon Fire Protection District hosted a safety day to teach kids what to do in case of an emergency.

The free all day event at the Laura Hill Plaza brought out fire departments from all over including Cottleville and Wentzville.

O' Fallon has hosted the event for the last 10 years as part of National Fire Prevention Week.

Crews brought fire trucks and displays, kids also had a chance to go through a fire fighter challenge. They also learned more about what first responders do at the scene.

O’Fallon police and Missouri State Troopers were also on hand with games.  The St. Charles County Community Emergency Response Team and mobile command center also brought out equipment for display.

More than 1,000 kids are expected to attend.
