UNIVERSITY CITY, MO (KTVI)– A dog owner posted an ad on Craigslist Saturday threatening to shoot their dog if no one took it by the end on the day, according to Liz Pendleton.

“In the description it said they had no use for the dog and if no one came and got it they would shoot,” Pendleton said.

Pendleton was shocked by the ad, so she drove from University City to Illinois to pick up the dog.

“It was an hour and a half, and the lady basically didn’t say anything,” she said. “There was no question I was going to get that dog.”

Pendleton said she did notify police about the ad. She said she can’t care for the dog permanently, so she is hoping someone will contact her and take him.

“He deserves love and much more than he has been getting,” she said.

Pendleton named the dog “Buck.”
