BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS, MO (KTVI) – It's been a frustrating day for Bellefontaine Neighbors parent Kathy Vann she says her 3 kids were transferred out of the Riverview Gardens School District 3 years ago and the bus routes to Kirkwood and Mehlville schools have been the same.  But that all changed this week when she and other parents were not told about adjustments made to the routes.

“They want to frustrate us to get out kids back to Riverview. They never sent any bus schedules out and basically I had to figure it out on my own. I called Kirkwood to figure out where my kids were supposed to get on the bus.” Said Vann.

A Riverview gardens school official Anna Munson says First Student is responsible for notifying parents about pick-up locations; but they`re working with the company to streamline the process.

“We have consolidated routes because we have less students being transported. Last year we found that we had some buses with fewer than 10 students traveling to Mehlville and Kirkwood.” said Munson.

Right now there are about 5,300 students in the district and officials say the district pays for more than 190 who are transported to Kirkwood and Mehlville. As for accreditation a decision on the reinstatement of Riverview Gardens is expected by November 7th.

If you have questions about the changes you can call the district at 314-869-2505 ext. 2419.
