BALCH SPRINGS, TX– The pastors of a Texas church starved a 2-year-old boy who they said was possessed by a demon and later held a religious ceremony to resurrect him from the dead. According to CBS Dallas, the child was starved as part of a ritual to rid him of demons 25 days before he died.

The YouTube video allegedly shows a religious official reciting prayers while holding the deceased boy. “In the name of Jesus, I’m utilizing this oil to try to get him back to life,” she explains in Spanish. After applying oil to the 2-year-old’s head, she says it’s time for him to wake up, “right now.”

The woman has performing the ritual has been identified as Aracely Meza.

Court records indicate the woman believed that was the day God was going to wake the boy up.

The woman along with her husband and the child’s parents then reportedly went to Mexico to bury the child. When she returned she was taken into custody. Police believe the child’s body and his parents are still in Mexico.

Meza is now being held on a $100,000 bond.
