ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – In our Pay It Forward segment, Fox 2 News recognizes a St. Louis couple for its random acts of kindness.

Jeremy and Christie Elmendorf lost their infant son, Chase, to an inoperable brain tumor just one year ago. They’ve since launched a Facebook page in his memory designed to help raise money for causes benefiting children.

On Thursday, the Elmendorfs made a large donation of aluminum can tabs to the Ronald McDonald House in west St. Louis County for one of its programs. Jeremy’s cousin, Angie, was there to surprise them with a Pay It Forward reward: a $500 gift card on behalf of First Bank and Fox 2 News.

The Elmendorfs immediately donated the gift card to the Ronald McDonald House.
