JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO. (KTVI) – What started out as an Eagle Scout project has ballooned into an important lifeline for hundreds of underprivileged students in Jefferson County. Brendan Tamboli and his mom Vicki offer a free service called Brendan’s Friday Backpack program.  The concept is simple: Every Friday, shopping bags filled with food are delivered to schools, then students taken them home in their backpacks. The program has been around for just over a year, and it keeps growing because the need keeps growing.

Watch as a friend surprises Vicki with our $500 Pay It Forward award.
