ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - You can call them courageous. You can call them crazy. But truth is the people who rappelled from 17 stories above downtown St. Louis are simply special.

Nearly 100 people braved the wind and their fear for the "Over the Edge" Special Olympics fundraiser at the Hyatt Regency. Participants  rappeled down the side of the downtown hotel. Each had to raise at least $1,000 for the Special Olympics.

They included a decorated Special Olympics athlete.

"I liked it," Daxton Miller said. “I had fun going down there."

More than $100,000 was raised for the Special Olympics athletes in St. Louis.
