(KTVI)-- Basketball fans from around the country are swarming St. Louis for this weekend’s NCAA regional tournament. From North Carolina to Ohio and Kansas fans gathered Friday with their pep bands for a downtown rally hosted by FOX 2’s Randi Naughton. While cheering on their favorite teams, there seemed to be one topic they could all agree on; St. Louis plays a good host.

Fans arrived in town early and are staying through the weekend to take in the staple sights around St. Louis. Many fans say they have already visited the Arch and took the brewery tour and play to seek good BBQ before departing.

For many it was their first trip to St. Louis, but others are returning and have rave reviews.  Dan Simon from Kansas says he’s been to St. Louis before and loves brining his boys back, “St. Louis is a great place to come for a basketball game. It is a great place to bring the family. It's a great Midwestern city”

No matter who they’re cheering for, most fans say they plan to stay through the weekend.
