ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – The Bayless High School gymnasium was evacuated Friday night after a shooting left one man injured.
According to Officer Benjamin Granda, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, the shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. in the 4500 block of Weber Road. Three people entered the gym and confronted the victim inside the lobby area.
One of the three people pulled out a gun and fired a single shot. The victim, who appeared to be have been specifically targeted, suffered a non-life threatening graze wound.
The victim was not a student at Bayless, Granda said.
County officers who were working the boys’ basketball games inside the gym ran after the suspects after the hearing the gunshot. However, the three suspects got into a vehicle and manage to escape.
The basketball game between Bayless and Affton high schools was cancelled.
