PINE LAWN, MO (KTVI) – In an unusual special Sunday meeting the Pine Lawn Board of Aldermen met to consider whether to fire a police lieutenant who has been cooperating with the federal government.
A federal grand jury indicted Pine Lawn Mayor Sylvester Caldwell, accusing him of taking payoffs.
The mayor wasn’t at today’s meeting, but his supporters on the board of aldermen are looking at taking action against the police lieutenant for issues that happened two years ago that are unrelated to the federal probe.
The Pine Lawn police officer has already been put on administrative leave.
The officer has been cooperating with federal authorities in the case against Mayor Caldwell
Our calls to find out the results of the meeting were not returned.
