NORMANDY, MO (KTVI) – The Normandy Police Department posted to Facebook on Wednesday that officers had taken a handgun and high-capacity ammunition drum off the streets, but has yet to provide any additional information on how police came to find the gun.

An image of the handgun, ammunition, and the drum itself was posted before noon with the following description: “This weapon was taken off our streets the other night. Of particular interest is the 100 round drum magazine which accompnaied the gun.” (sic)

According to the website ClassicFirearms.com, the drum appears to be a Glock 9mm 50 round drum magazine.

The police department has not responded to additional questions regarding the gun.
