ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – A coalition is working to expand the light rail system in the St. Louis area. The group, which helped to defeat Amendment 7, the three-quarter cents sales tax referendum, wants a rail line built to connect north county and south county. Members say they want to do something positive because they believe in good transportation for the region and expanding the rail line will help provide jobs and boost the economy. The project has been talked about for years and there have been two studies on it. To move forward, more funds need to be raised to commission another round of studies on the project.
