ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A police vehicle was lit on fire Tuesday at around 4am in south St. Louis. Police tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that someone used an unknown accelerant to torch a 2005 Chevrolet Impala. The car was parked in the 4000 block of California Avenue.

It is not clear what the car was doing east of Marquette Park near Osage Street. St. Louis leave several vacant cars parked in city neighborhoods to deter crime. They have not said whether the car belongs to an officer answering a call, an officer who lives in the area or one used to deter crime.
