Police chase ends at I-70 and Lindbergh; suspected car thief arrested

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A suspected car thief led police from multiple jurisdictions on a chase Tuesday from St. Charles County to north St. Louis County.

According to Captain Thurman of the St. Charles Police Department, a person stole a truck from an O'Fallon dealership and fled east on Interstate 70. The suspect got off on Lindbergh and eventually struck a St. Ann police vehicle at I-70 and St. Charles Rock Road.

The suspect then made a u-turn in an attempt to get back on I-70, but police were able to stop the suspect at the on-ramp to I-70 and Lindbergh.

The St. Ann officer in the damaged police vehicle was not injured.

The suspect, a 40-year-old man, was taken into custody. Charges are pending.
