BALLWIN, MO (KTVI) – Be careful who you let watch your home while on vacation. The Ballwin police Department says that one house-sitter caused more than $37,000 in damage. She let her friends cook meth in the home.

Lauren Stephens, 34, was left the key to watch a ranch home in a Ballwin neighborhood. A probable cause statement from police says that Stephens is a known meth user. She let people into the home to cook meth. She even purchased a box of pseudo-ephedrine at Walgreens for the manufacture of the drug.

An environmental cleanup and restoration company says that the entire first floor of the home will have to be rehabbed because of the mess.

Lauren Stephens is being charged with with first-degree property damage. Her bail is set at $20,000.
