Family Terrorized In Home Invasion

NORTH ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – Two suspects terrorized a young St. Louis family during a home invasion Tuesday night, police said.  

Police gave this account:  

Around 7:00, in the 4500 block of San Francisco, the suspects knocked on the door of a house; a woman was home with her 3 children; the suspects asked for someone by name; the woman said she didn`t know anyone by that name; the suspects kicked in the door and forced their way into the way; they both had guns;  as they began burglarizing the home, taking electronic items like an Xbox game system among other things, the woman`s husband arrived home;  as he was at the door, one suspect shot at him but missed;  the suspects rounded up the family and locked them in the basement;  the family escaped through a basement window and made it to a neighbor`s house; police arrived, unsure whether the suspects were still in the victims` home;  the hostage response & tactical unit responded; police tried to make contact with the suspects;  with no response, police entered the home around 9:30;  the suspects were gone.  

Police said there were no injuries.  Police said the suspects were African American males both believed to still be armed with handguns.  

Police are seeking them on multiple charges for offenses ranging from home invasion and burglary to kidnapping and attempted murder.
